High School Students
Dual credit at San Jacinto College lets students earn high school and college credits at the same time. This can lead to over 24 college credit hours and a 75% tuition discount. Early admission is another option for concurrent enrollment, but it does not offer a tuition discount.

Before finishing the admission process at San Jacinto College, you should talk to your high school counselor. You can get more info on how to register for dual credit courses. Here's what you need to do to participate:
- Apply online and get an SJC Student ID (G-Number).
- Apply at www.applytexas.org. Be sure to complete the profile and the application!
- Your application will be processed within 72 hours. After that, you'll be emailed your San Jac Student ID (example: G0100123).
- Meet the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) requirements.
- An exemption permanently exempts a student from taking the TSIA.
- All students must take the TSIA or prove an exemption in reading, writing, and math.
- Testing may be available at your high school.

- Submit proof of or exemption from Bacterial Meningitis vaccination.
- Email shot records or exemption forms to Meningitis.Docs@sjcd.edu or fax them to 281-669-4720.

- Register for classes.
- Web registration is not available for dual credit students. To register, meet with your high school counselor or the San Jac dual credit office.
- Pay tuition.
- To remain in your classes, you must pay your part of tuition and fees by the college's posted deadline.

You can pay through your My San Jac Student Portal or in person at the college's Business Office.

Students might qualify for the FAST program which covers all their dual credit classes. See below for more details.

Parent Resources
Dual credit at San Jacinto College lets your child earn high school and college credits at the same time. This can lead to more than 24 college credit hours at graduation.
Early College High School
The Early College High School (ECHS) initiative is a four-year, open-enrollment program. It lets students earn up to 60 college credits for free while in high school. The program aims to support students who have historically faced disadvantages and those at risk.

Financial Aid for Swift Transfer - FAST Program
Texas started the Financial Aid for Swift Transfer (FAST) program. This program is for dual credit students. Eligible students in the FAST program can take qualified dual credit courses at participating colleges for free. San Jacinto College is participating in the FAST program. The high school pays for books, supplies, and other course materials.
Students at San Jacinto College don’t need to fill out a form for FAST to be applied to their account.
Students may be eligible for FAST funding if they meet all of the following requirements:

are enrolled in a qualified dual credit course at a public school district or charter school

are taking a course offered through an institutional agreement, as outlined in TAC, Section 4.84, from an institution of higher education that has opted to participate in FAST

were qualified for free/reduced-price lunch in any of the four school years prior to the academic year in which they enroll in the dual credit course
We determine FAST eligibility on a term-by-term basis after the term has ended. If you're found ineligible for FAST, you might still owe a balance on your account.
