Enter the beauty industry quickly with this one-year, fast-track certificate. Work toward the minimum technical background and experience required to pass the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations Examination for licensing and to gain entry-level employment in professional salons.

If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 16 credits for this program in one term.
The Barber AAS Degree provides technical and practical instruction covering the art of cosmetology and barbering to include shaving, clipper cutting, men’s grooming, and men’s facials. The educational goal of the cosmetology, barbering course of study is to prepare for the Class A Barber state licensing examination and for profitable employment as a barber.

The Barber Certificate of Technology offers you technical and practical instruction on the art of barbering. We'll prepare you for the state licensing exam and employment as a Class A barber.

This certificate prepares students for entry-level jobs in salons and other beauty settings. Students receive hands-on training in hair, skin, and nail services and complete the hours required to take the Texas cosmetology licensing exam.
1.5 Years
If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 45 credits for this program in three terms, including a summer term.
The Eyelash Extension Specialist, Institutional Credential Leading to Licensure or Certification (ICLC) prepares students for entry-level work applying eyelash extensions in salons and other beauty settings. Students receive hands-on training in safe application, sanitation, and client care and complete the state-required hours needed to qualify for the Texas cosmetology licensing exam.

If you're studying full-time, you can complete the 11 credits for this certificate in two terms.
Learn current techniques and business practices along with basic knowledge of chemistry, eyelash growth cycles, and proper selection. Obtain a certification by San Jacinto College and NovaLash.
Cost: $2,335 + the Nova Lash Kit (approximately $675)

This certificate requires 320 hours of training as mandated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Our specialty training program teaches you in-demand manicuring skills – including acrylic, fiberglass, and gel nail extensions – to keep others’ hands looking ageless. The Occupational Certificate prepares you for the AAS degree or Certificate of Technology program or to advance in your current career.

After San Jacinto College
Upon completion of this program, students can simultaneously complete their final
exam and state licensing exam through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. This gives students the ability to walk the stage at graduation, and go to work
the very next day.

Graduates can pursue roles such as hairstylist, color specialist, makeup artist, nail
technician, esthetician, or move toward salon and spa management. Many also go on
to open their own businesses.
No prior experience is required. The program is designed to teach you foundational
skills from the beginning while helping you build confidence and professionalism.
You’ll spend significant time working with real clients in San Jac’s on-campus salon
and spa, gaining practical experience while completing your required training hours.
Completion of a program at San Jac does not guarantee eligibility for licensure or
certification.
This program leads to a license from the Texas Department of License and Regulation
(TDLR). TDLR now requires applicants to provide documentation of lawful presence in
the United States for both initial license issuance and renewals.
Students who are unable to provide the required lawful presence documentation will
not be eligible to obtain or renew a TDLR-issued license, even if they successfully
complete the program.
Put what you learn in the classroom into action in our on-campus salon and spa. As
a cosmetology student, you’ll get hands-on experience providing a variety of professional
services to real clients while learning how to present yourself professionally at
the same time.
