Advanced Imaging Admission Information

Are you a radiologic technologist who’s ready to advance your career? San Jac offers magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), and mammography programs. Registered sonographers are welcome to apply for the MRI program. Be sure to check out the requirements below.

How to Apply

After you’ve been admitted to San Jac, follow these steps to prepare for your program. By the way, if you haven't applied to San Jac, you'll need to do that first.

If you're unsure which program you'd like to pursue, we've put together these resources to help you better understand each option.

If you have any questions or just want to talk to someone about the program, please reach out to us.
  1. Gather Official Transcripts

Be sure to request official transcripts from all colleges and universities you’ve previously attended—including San Jac. These should be submitted to the San Jac Admissions Office along with your application.

  2. Process Degree Evaluation

Next, head over to the Secure Online System (SOS) to process and print your degree evaluation for for the program you’re applying to. Be sure to select the catalog year that matches the year you're applying for. Once completed, include the printed evaluation with your application.

  3. Verify Your Licenses

If you are applying for Computed Tomography or Mammography, you will need a copy of your ARRT certification and state MRT license with the Texas Medical Board. If you are applying for Magnetic Resonance Imaging you will need your certification in ARRT or ARDMS.

Please be sure your ID number is on your license verification.

  4. Request Course Substitutes

Already taken a course at another institution? No problem. After submitting your official transcripts to admissions for evaluation, submit course substitution requests — including your student ID and a description of the substitution course — to the medical imaging department email before applying (advancedimagingmodalityprograms@sjcd.edu).

  5. Submit a Work History Form

If you’re looking to get credit for hands-on work experience in the medical imaging field as a registered technologist, fill out and submit a work history verification form for consideration.

  6. Apply!

Gathered your documents? Filled out your forms? Now you’re ready to apply. To apply, please submit the application during an application period.
