Adult Education & Literacy Grants

We encourage students of all ages and backgrounds to apply for financial aid and grants.

This financial aid is a grant, not a loan, and does not need to be repaid. Awards are based on financial need and support students enrolled in Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) programs. AEL courses help adults strengthen foundational skills, earn a high school diploma or GED, and prepare for careers such as an electrocardiogram technician (EKG), medical office professional (MOP), patient care technician (PCT), and other high-demand fields.

The following is a list of the free courses we offer through our grants:

  • Workplace English (English as a Second Language - ESL)
  • Adult Basic Education (ABE) / Adult Secondary Education (ASE) are GED Prep Courses providing instruction based on academic placement test scores. These courses prepare learners for the high school equivalency (HSE) test, such as the GED, by teaching essential skills in math, science, language arts, and social studies.
  • Internationally Trained Professionals (ITP) is a course for English Language Learners (ELLs) or others who have already completed a Bachelor's degree or professional credential from another country, and want to learn about getting a job or more education in the United States.
  • Career Pathways / Integrated Education and Training (IET) are job training classes in electrocardiogram (EKG) technician, medical office professional (MOP), patient care technician (PCT) and many other jobs.   These IET job training classes teach essential academic skills while preparing students for success in the workforce.

Daytime, evening and online classes are offered. For additional grant information, email:
